Mentor Dubuque
Since 1997, Mentor Dubuque (formerly Big Brother/Big Sisters) has made a difference in the lives of children and youth in our community. Mentor Dubuque matches young people with adult volunteers to build long-term, one-to-one relationships. Volunteer mentors provide friendship, emotional support and hope to young people. Each match is supported by professional staff.
Our service area includes Dubuque and Jackson counties. We are a program of Hillcrest Family Services.
Research shows that children with a Mentor are more confident in their school work performance, less likely to skip school, less likely to begin using illegal drugs and alcohol and get along better with their families.
*New matches are made for children ages 5-15 years old. Existing matches can continue until age 18.
