Area Residential Care was founded in 1968 by a group of parents and other interested parties. From its inceptions, Area Residential Care’s purpose has been to provide community-based services for persons with intellectual disabilities. The organization has grown over the last 40 years to to serve an average of 250 people annually; providing residential, vocational, and day services in the Dubuque, Dyersville, and Manchester communities. Through these programs, Area Residential Care helps people with disabilities become active, participating members of the communities in which they live and work.

Volunteer Need 1

Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday 9-2:30 pm to work directly 1:1 or in small groups with Area Residential Care consumers.The hours/amount of time will be determined by the volunteer and the program Director. Volunteers are needed to lead craft activities, provide entertainment such as music, play board games, and much more. Volunteer Need 2

Volunteers are needed at the Corporate and Community Games on Friday, June 24 various shifts from 3-10 pm and clean up Saturday, June 25 from approximately 8-noon. This fundraising event is silly games for a serious mission. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including instructing teams on how to play the games, scoring, selling raffle tickets, cleaning up, and more.
